Thin Ice Press Printing Exhibition: A Show of Hands

Updated: Dec 14, 2019

"A Show of Hands" opened it's exhibition of printed works in the Norman Rea Gallery on Monday the 18th of November, courtesy of Thin Ice Press and the University's English Department.

The show exhibited a wide range of prints, each featuring one of the printing world's most famous visual icons, the manicle. These pointing hands were used to draw viewers' attention to sections of text exploring a wide array of ideas, from politics, to poetry, and comedy.

The show was a partnership between the Norman Rea and the English Department, through The Thin Ice Press: a printing studio on campus, and was curated by Tim Jollands of Bath Spa Albion.

The exhibition displayed over 90 posters, books and related ephemera. It stands as one of the largest exhibitions in terms of number of works that the Norman Rea has displayed thus far.

The exhibition will be displayed in the Norman Rea Gallery until January 4th 2020.
