My name is Matilda Bentley, and I am a third year History of Art undergraduate at York. My role on the Norman Rea Gallery Committee is that of Editor; I oversee and manage the WordPress platform, which can be found at thenormanreagallery.wordpress.com. 

 

Not only does the blog play an important role in helping base the Gallery within the wider Wordpress community, but it also develops our digital and creative content. In the particular, this is what drew me to the role: the chance to combine my passions of art and writing. 

 

The blog features broadly tailored subject matter ranging from opinion pieces, reviews and interviews centred around contemporary culture. This is closely linked to the new direction of this incoming Committee.

 

It is my hope that in the coming year the platform will expand and gain a wider digital footprint in order to strengthen the Gallery's reputation both at the University of York, and beyond.
